OSCE Mission, Directorate for Care of Refugees and Red Cross sign memorandum of understanding for integration of displaced persons

PODGORICA, 29 March 2012 – A memorandum of understanding between the OSCE Mission to Montenegro, the Bureau for the Care of Refugees and the Red Cross of Montenegro will be signed in Podgorica tomorrow.

The memorandum will mark the beginning of co-operation between the parties in assisting displaced persons from Kosovo to obtain the documentation necessary to acquire legal status in Montenegro. An important part of the memorandum is a social inclusion element providing access to education as a first step in the integration of displaced persons into Montenegrin society.

The Head of the OSCE Mission, Ambassador Šarūnas Adomavičius, the Director of the Bureau for the Care of Refugees, Željko Šofranac, and General Secretary of the Montenegrin Red Cross Jelena Dubak will address the participants at the signing ceremony.

Journalists are invited to cover the signing ceremony, which is scheduled to start at 14.30 on Friday, 30 March 2012, at the premises of the Red Cross of Montenegro, Jovana Tomasevica 6, Podgorica.
