OSCE Mission to Montenegro organizes clean-up campaign in Cetinje to mark Earth Day

PODGORICA, 20 April 2011 – The OSCE Mission to Montenegro is organizing a clean-up campaign in the Municipality of Cetinje tomorrow, a day  ahead of Earth Day.

The School of Ecological Activism hosts the campaign. Staff and students from that school,  the OSCE Mission to Montenegro, the Municipality of Cetinje, the Environmental Protection Agency, the non-governmental organization "Ozone" and the Cetinje high school will take part.

Also tomorrow,  the School of Ecological Activism – an initative by the OSCE Mission to Montenegro and the NGO Ozone - will host a roundtable meeting to discuss natural disasters and solid waste.

Representatives of the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism, the Inteior Ministry, the Environmental Protection Agency, and others will participate in the discussion.

The Head of the OSCE Mission to Montenegro, Ambassador Šarūnas Adomavičius, and the Mayor of Cetinje, Aleksandar Bogdanović, will open the clean-up campaign.

Journalists are invited to cover the event, which is scheduled to start at 10.00 on Thursday, 21 April 2011, in front of the Biljarda building, Trg Kralja Nikole, in Cetinje. The roundtable meeting is scheduled to start at 12.00, at the second floor of the Gradska kafana restaurant, Njegoseva bb, Cetinje.
