OSCE Mission, Defence Ministry to host human rights training course for Montenegrin Armed Forces
PODGORICA, 3 September 2014 – The OSCE Mission to Montenegro and the country’s Defence Ministry will host tomorrow on 4 September a pre-deployment human rights training for armed forces to be engaged in international missions.
The training course, to be delivered by the international and national experts, will focus on the human rights and obligations of armed forces personnel prior to their deployment in international missions and multilateral forces.
Addressing the opening session will be the Head of the OSCE Mission to Montenegro, Ambassador Janina Hrebickova; President of the Committee for Security and Defence of the Assembly of Montenegro, Mevludin Nuhodzic; State Secretary of the Defence Ministry of Montenegro, Ambassador Bojan Sarkic, and Oyvind Hoyen, Human Rights Officer at the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR).
The initiative is supported by the Security and Defence Committee of the Parliament of Montenegro, ODIHR and the Centre for European Security Studies from the Netherlands.
Journalists are invited to attend the opening at the Armed Forces Training Centre in Danilovgrad on Thursday, 4 September 2014, at 09:30.
