CHISINAU, 29 August 2012 – The OSCE Mission to Moldova and the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) will hold a roundtable meeting on “Increasing the Participation of Women in Political Parties in Moldova” on 4 September in Chisinau, Moldova. The event will be followed by a training seminar for women political leaders and activists, from 4 to 6 September.
The meeting will facilitate discussion among political party leaders, campaign managers and representatives of international organizations and civil society on women’s political participation. Liliana Palihovici, Deputy Speaker of the Parliament of Moldova will deliver the opening remarks.
The event will bring together experts from international and domestic organizations, as well as representatives of political parties. Participants will share good practices political parties can use to promote women as party candidates in elections at the local, regional and national levels.
