Official 5+2 talks on Transdniestrian settlement to take place in Vienna on 12-13 July

VIENNA, 10 July 2012 – Official negotiations on the Transdniestrian settlement will take place in Vienna on 12 and 13 July.

The two-day meeting will bring together representatives of the sides, mediators and observers in the negotiations – Moldova, Transdniestria, the OSCE, the Russian Federation, Ukraine, the US and the EU. The meeting will be chaired by Ambassador Erwan Fouéré, the Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office for the Transdniestrian settlement process.

Photos and video footage from the opening session will be made available. A concluding press briefing with Ambassador Fouéré, Ambassador Jennifer Brush, the Head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova, and the Moldovan and Transdniestrian Chief Negotiators, Eugen Carpov and Nina Shtanski, will be held via video link with journalists in Chisinau on 13 July at approximately 13:30 CEST (Vienna time), 14:30 EEST (Chisinau time). Media from both banks of the Dniester / Nistru River are invited to the OSCE Headquarters in Chişinău, at Str. Mitropolit Dosoftei, 108, to watch the briefing and ask questions.
