OSCE Mission to Moldova and Austria to share best practices on women's support shelters

CHISINAU, 29 June 2012 – The OSCE Mission to Moldova and the Office of the Austrian Attaché of Labour, Social Affairs and Consumer Protection at the Austrian Embassy will hold a workshop on supporting shelters for victims of domestic violence on 3 and 4 July in Chisinau.

Experts from the Austrian Women’s Shelter Network will share best practices on running women’s shelters, and present relevant legislation, practical procedures, challenges and multidisciplinary approaches in dealing with victims of domestic violence.

The two-day event will bring together Moldovan experts and practitioners from the Ministry of Labour, Social Protection and Family, the Interior Ministry, including police, and the Ministries of Health, Education, and Finance, as well as from women’s shelters and non-governmental organizations from both sides of the Dniestr/Nistru river.
