OSCE Mission to Moldova to co-organize conference on torture prevention
CHISINAU, 16 November 2006 - The OSCE Mission to Moldova together with the Institute for Penal Reform and Amnesty International Moldova will organize a conference on torture prevention in Chisinau on 17 and 18 November.
The event will focus on a national strategy for implementing the Optional Protocol to the United Nations Convention against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment, which was recently ratified by Moldova.
Experts from Amnesty International, the Association for the Prevention of Torture, the Institute for Penal Reform, as well as independent experts will speak at the conference.
Media representatives are invited to attend the conference which opens at 9.30 on 17 November at Hotel Codru, 31 August street nr. 127.
