OSCE Mission in Kosovo condemns murder in Ferizaj/ Uroševac

PRISHTINË/PRIŠTINA, 9 July 2012 – The Head of the OSCE Mission in Kosovo, Ambassador Werner Almhofer, condemned the murders of Milovan and Ljiljana Jevtić, Kosovo Serb returnees to the village of Talinovc i Muhaxherëve/Muhadžer Talinovac in Ferizaj/Uroševac municipality. 

Ambassador Almhofer expressed deep concern about the 6 July incident, and its effect on the community in which it occurred.

“I am shocked and saddened by this act. I commend the immediate response to the incident by the Kosovo Police, as well as by other institutions and their leaders, and I trust that every effort will be made by police and the judiciary to solve the case in a timely manner,” he said.

Milovan Jevtić was a member of a local public safety initiative supported by the OSCE which aimed at promoting a safer environment for all communities living in the area.

The OSCE Mission is mandated with human right protection and promotion, democratization, and public safety sector development.
