OSCE Mission in Kosovo

PRISHTINË/PRIŠTINA, 30 May 2012 – Starting tomorrow the OSCE Mission in Kosovo will organize a two-day conference for regional public broadcasters to examine financing modalities, editorial independence, journalism standards and the digital switchover.

Around 40 participants representing eight public service broadcasters from the region, as well as local media and civil society representatives will attend the conference.

Representatives of public service broadcasters will sign a joint statement on further co-operation and exchange of programmes portraying different communities at the end of the conference.

The Head of the OSCE Mission in Kosovo, Ambassador Werner Almhofer, and General Director of the Radio Television of Kosovo (RTK), Sylejman Shaqiri, will speak at the conference.

Media representatives are cordially invited to attend the event, which starts at 10.00  on Thursday, 31 May 2012, at Hotel Afa in Prishtinë/Priština.
