The OSCE Mission in Kosovo donated 20 wheelchairs to people in Ferizaj/Uroševac and Štrpce/Shtërpcë municipalities on 24 February 2011. The donation reached the beneficiaries through Handikos, an NGO that works for for the rights of people with limited abilities.
Urlich Biffar, Director of the Mission's Regional Centre in Gjilan/Gnjilane said: “This is a small project, but we hope it will make a big difference for the beneficiaries. Democracy begins with equal treatment and opportunities for every individual. That should be the common aim of us all.”
