OSCE Mission in Kosovo supports capacity building for civil service board

PRISTINE/PRISTINA, 1 September 2010 - The OSCE Mission in Kosovo will help build the capacity of the Independent Oversight Board for the Civil Service of Kosovo with a series of seminars, the first of which starts tomorrow in Mitrovice/Mitrovica.

During the seminars to be held in 11 locations in Kosovo, mayors and municipal senior officials who deal with personnel issues, as well as civil society representatives will receive information on the rights of civil servants and the mandate of the Board.

The project aims to assist the Board maintain its institutional, functional and financial independence.

Caroline Law, Programme Officer from the OSCE Mission in Kosovo; Mehdi Geci, Independent Oversight Board for the Civil Service of Kosovo Chairperson, as well as representatives from municipalities of Mitrovice/Mitrovica, Vushtrri/Vucitrn and Skenderaj/Srbica will be present at the seminar.
