OSCE Mission in Kosovo to host regional conference on fighting corruption
PRISHTINË/PRIŠTINA, 3 November 2015 – The OSCE Mission will start tomorrow a two-day conference on fighting corruption for representatives of institutions, police, and civil society from the region.
The conference will gather participants from Belgrade, Ljubljana, Podgorica, Prishtinë/Priština, Sarajevo, Skopje, Tirana, and Zagreb to discuss the current situation, opportunities and challenges, and to explore regional best practices in fighting corruption, with particular emphasis on asset seizure and financial investigation.
The event, part of a project financed by the German government and implemented by the OSCE Mission to support Kosovo Police in fighting high-level corruption, will also serve as an opportunity to establish and enhance contacts between regional police forces and institutions on this important topic.
Head of the OSCE Mission in Kosovo, Ambassador Jean-Claude Schlumberger, the German Ambassador in Prishtinë/Priština, Ambassador Angelika Viets, and the Minister of Internal Affairs, Skender Hyseni will open the conference.
