Public safety issues in Kosovo to be discussed at OSCE-facilitated meeting on Wednesday

PRISHTINË/PRIŠTINA, 4 June 2013 – The OSCE Mission in Kosovo will facilitate the 10th Local Public Safety Committees (LPSC) Executive Council meeting to take place tomorrow.

The LPSCs consist of local community members, police officers, municipal and schools officials, as well as women and youth representatives who work together to improve community safety and quality of life.

Representatives of 35 Committees across Kosovo, of the Interior Ministry and Kosovo Police, as well as local and international partner organizations, will review safety and security concerns among local communities, assess progress since the last meeting held in December 2012, and discuss future activities.

Director of OSCE Mission’s Department of Security and Public Safety Duško Zavišić, Deputy Interior Minister Izmi Zeka, and Kosovo Police Deputy Director Naim Rexha will speak at the event. 

Media representatives are invited to the opening of the meeting on Wednesday, 5 June 2013, at 10:00 hrs, at Restaurant Kalaja in Vushtrri/Vučitrn.
