In May 2013, professors from the University of Prizren will begin to train future primary school teachers in the use of SMART whiteboards that are connected to the Internet, can host interactive applications and can be used for group work activities.

The professors were trained from 23 to 27 April 2013 at the Croatian Teacher Training Agency in Zagreb during a study trip organized by the OSCE Mission in Kosovo.

“The introduction of the SMART whiteboards in primary schools is an important innovation that will help educators in Kosovo keep up with international trends and improve the quality of their teaching and interaction with students,” said Francesco Bigagli from the OSCE Mission’s Youth and Higher Education Unit.

The first SMART whiteboards are to be introduced in select Kosovo primary schools in November 2013 with the help of the Austrian Development Agency (ADA), which funded the study trip and the procurement of necessary equipment for the education faculty.
