Strengthening search and rescue skills to save lives in Georgia

If a natural disaster strikes or a serious accident occurs, rescue workers in Georgia are now better prepared to ensure people's safety, thanks to an OSCE Mission training programme.

The OSCE has been working with Georgia's national Government to dispose of dangerous surpluses of old military equipment left in the country after the breakup of the Soviet Union.

Georgia takes new steps to tackle human trafficking

Since making human trafficking a criminal offence, Georgia has stepped up efforts to combat the problem and alleviate the plight of victims, with help from the OSCE.
