Sona Karapetyan, from the remote Armenian province of Syunik, believes that young people's most important task is to empower their community by participating in civic life.

Participants at a meeting of OSCE Gender Focal Points on 31 March-1 April 2008 in Vienna. A visit to the City of Vienna's Department of Women's Affairs gave them the chance to learn from best practices like the programme to combat violence against women. (OSCE/Mikhail Evstafiev)
