The Forum for Security Co-operation meets weekly in Vienna to discuss and make decisions regarding military aspects of security in the OSCE area, in particular confidence- and security-building measures (CSBMs).

According to the OSCE's Vienna Document of 2011 on Confidence- and Security-Building Measures, the participating States are obliged to invite representatives of all OSCE participating States to visit an air base and another military facility once during a specified five-year period.
