The OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media, Dunja Mijatović, observes media developments in all 57 OSCE participating States, from Vancouver to Vladivostok. She provides early warning on violations of freedom of expression and promotes full compliance with OSCE press freedom commitments.

During the first six months of 2013, the Representative and her staff

  • intervened in 29 out of 57 OSCE countries
  • visited 20 countries
  • expressed concern about draft or new legislation or regulation in nine countries
  • completed four legal reviews
