The Section for External Co-operation is the first point of contact at the headquarter level for international organizations and institutions, sub-regional organizations and initiatives in the OSCE area.

It is also responsible for liaising with the OSCE's 11 Partners for Co-operation (Mediterranean and Asian), regional organizations outside the OSCE area, academic institutions, think-tanks, and NGOs dealing with non-human dimension topics.
