OSCE Ministerial Council to start in Dublin on Thursday

DUBLIN, 4 December 2012 – The 19th Meeting of the OSCE Ministerial Council will be held in Dublin on 6 and 7 December 2012. The venue will be the Royal Dublin Society (RDS) Simmonscourt Complex, located at Simmonscourt Road, Dublin 4.

Media centre

There will be a fully equipped media centre at the RDS. The entire venue will be a secure area, with access only possible with an accreditation badge.

The media centre will be open as follows:
Wednesday, 5 December – 10:00 – 18:00
Thursday, 6 December – 6:00 – 22:00
Friday, 7 December – 8:00 – 20:00

For security reasons access will be restricted during the VIP arrivals on the morning of Thursday 6 December between 7:30-9:15am. Media wishing to cover the arrivals and the family photo are required to  be at the Media Centre before 7:30am.

WiFi is available throughout the Media Centre.  The WiFi password is osce2012.

Media accreditation

The Media Accreditation Centre is located at the Sandymount Buildings, RDS, Simmonscourt Road, Dublin 4 (opposite the entrance to the venue), it will be open as follows:

Thursday, 6 December – 06:00 – 18:00
Friday, 7 December – 08:00 – 13:00

Media may be requested to present proof of identity (passport or identity card).

Media Information Desk

13.30 Final press conference of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office and the OSCE Secretary General (large press conference room at the press centre, open to all media)

Journalists will be able to send questions for the final press conference via Twitter. The questions should include the hashtag #OSCE and be sent on 7 December 2012. As the time will be limited, not all questions sent via Twitter will be answered.

Media Pooling Arrangements

All proceedings will be covered by the host broadcaster and the official photographers and facilities will be in place so that all accredited journalists may avail of these free of charge (see contact details below).

In regard to coverage by other media organisations logistical and security considerations may require the implementation of media pool arrangements. It may not be possible to accommodate all requests. If pooling is required  further details will be provided prior to or during the meeting.

TV, radio, webcasting, social media, official photography

Requests for photo of official greetings, ministers from the official photographer should be submitted to the Information Desk at the Media Centre or emailed to oscedublin2012@gmail.com

All open proceedings of the Ministerial Council will be broadcast on CCTV in the Media Centre.

The Host Broadcaster OBSERVE will provide audio- and video feed on the spot to fully equipped TV and radio booths from the arrivals area, the family photo, plenary room and the final press conference room.

The arrivals and handshakes on Thursday morning, family photo and all plenary proceedings of the Ministerial Council in the plenary room and the final press conference on Friday, 7 December will be linked up to the satellite with the assistance of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU). All details will be communicated at a later stage.
