OSCE election observers to present findings at public event in Washington on Thursday

WASHINGTON D.C., 7 November 2012 – The Special Coordinator of the OSCE election observation mission to the general elections in the United States, Joao Soares, will present the findings of the mission at a public event in Washington D.C. on Thursday.

After the presentation of the official statement, there will be a panel discussion on the implications of the US elections for the OSCE region featuring the following speakers:

  • U.S. Senator Benjamin Cardin (D-MD) (Invited)
  • Terry Hopmann, Professor of Conflict Management, Johns Hopkins SAIS
  • Joao Soares, Past President, OSCE Parliamentary Assembly
  • Ambassador Andras Simonyi, Managing Director, Center for Transatlantic Relations
  • Spencer Oliver, Secretary General, OSCE Parliamentary Assembly

Journalists are invited to attend the briefing and discussion starting from 10:00 on Thursday, 8 November 2012 at Kenney Auditorium, 1740 Massachusetts Ave., NW, Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies.
