CHISINAU, 5 November 2012 - The Irish OSCE Chairmanship, together with the OSCE Mission to Moldova will organize a three-day working visit to Chisinau and Tiraspol by the mediators and observers in the 5+2 talks on Transdniestrian settlement, starting on 5 November.
Representatives from the OSCE, Ukraine, the Russian Federation, the United States and the European Union will meet officials from both banks of the Dniestr/Nistru river to get better acquainted with the situation on the ground.
Meetings with high-level Moldovan officials, including Prime Minister Vlad Filat, the Speaker of the Parliament Marian Lupu and the Chief Negotiator Eugen Carpov, will take place in Chisinau on 5-6 November. On 7 November, the delegation will travel to Tiraspol to meet with the Transdniestrian Leader Yevgeny Shevchuk, Chief Negotiator Nina Shtanski and co-chairs of working groups on confidence-building measures.
In Chisinau on 6 November, the Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office for the Transdniestrian settlement process, Ambassador Erwan Fouéré will take questions from journalists at 11.00 in front of the State Meeting House, str. Sfatul Tarii 49, following his meeting at the Parliament, and will brief journalists at 17.15 at the OSCE Mission to Moldova, str. Mitropolit Dosoftei, 108.
In Tiraspol, a photo opportunity will take place on 7 November at 12.00, followed by a short press briefing at 13.15 in the OSCE Office, ul. Furmanova, 1.
