OSCE Centre in Bishkek supports dialogue on education for sustainable development
The OSCE Centre in Bishkek on 4 December 2014 supported a two-day regional roundtable discussion in Kyrgyzstan’s capital on the outcomes of UNESCO’s World Conference on Education for Sustainable Development.
The OSCE-supported event was aimed at sharing best practices and elaborating further actions in creating an enabling environment for achieving tangible changes in curriculum and education practice in all levels of education related to sustainable development.
The UNESCO World Conference took place in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan on 10–13 November 2014.
The Kyrgyz minister of Education and Science, representatives of governmental institutions, academia, local NGOs and international organizations from Central Asia participated in the event.
The roundtable discussion in Bishkek was supported by the OSCE Centre in co-operation with the State Agency on Ecology And Forestry under the Kyrgyz Government and the Foundation ‘Roza Otunbaeva’s Initiative’ as well as the Regional Expertise Centre on Education for Sustainable Development.
