OSCE Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina
The Mission provides technical and capacity building support to government institutions to improve their effectiveness, responsiveness, and transparency. It helps local governments introduce mechanisms that encourage citizen participation, outreach, and fair and unbiased service delivery. To sustain the results achieved with these efforts, the Mission helps increase co-operation between all levels of government on good governance initiatives. It provides technical support to parliaments at the state and entity levels, as well as of the Brčko District Assembly, focusing on such areas as transparency, accountability, civic participation, and strengthening the participation of women in political life. The Mission also promotes good governance in the security sector by supporting the development and effective implementation of the country’s security policy, and by providing regional and inter-agency platforms for dialogue on pressing security challenges.
