BAKU, 20 April 2012 - More that 60 students from 12 universities across Azerbaijan will take part in the second Model OSCE conference, which starts in Baku on Sunday.
During a simulation of the OSCE Ministerial Council, participants of the event, organized by the OSCE Office in Baku and the Khazar University, will discuss combating organized crime and corruption in the OSCE area.
Speakers at the opening include Ambassador Koray Targay, the Head of the OSCE Office in Baku; Professor Hamlet Isakhanli, Founder and Chairperson of the Board of Directors and Trustees of Khazar University; Ambassador Fikret Akcura, the UN Resident Co-ordinator in Azerbaijan, and Elman Abdullayev, Spokesperson of Azerbaijan Foreign Ministry.
The Ministerial Council is a central decision-making body of the OSCE. It is composed of the OSCE participating States; foreign ministers who meet annually to consider issues relevant to the OSCE and take appropriate decisions.
The event is open to journalists and will take place on 22 April from 09.30 to 18.00 at the Khazar University (Nizami district, 11 Mehseti str., Neftchilar metro).
