OSCE Office in Baku

The OSCE Office in Baku closely follows the political situation in Azerbaijan, focusing particulary on electoral reform and freedom of assembly.

To promote constructive dialogue among political actors, the Office organizes training courses in consensus-building and conflict management skills for party, NGO and local authority representatives.

The Office has hosted regular meetings for representatives of participating States in Baku on the country's political situation. It has followed the cases of people arrested after the last presidential election in 2003 and related demonstrations, particularly those of leading opposition figures who were tried for crimes of public disturbance.
