Established in 2002, the OSCE Action against Terrorism Unit is the Organization's focal point for co-ordinating and facilitating OSCE initiatives and capacity-building programmes in combating terrorism.

Austrian students attending a weekend conference in Waidhofen an der Ybbs, Austria, devised a national strategy for combating terrorism in a workshop held by the OSCE Action against Terrorism Unit.
