This event is part of a 36-month project on mechanisms for preventing domestic violence on the basis of the Law on the Prevention of Domestic Violence that was adopted in 2009.

A legal consultant from the OSCE Centre in Astana will conduct an introductory training course for police officers on gender aspects of, and legal mechanisms related to, working with victims of domestic violence.

The one-day event will be co-funded by UN Women.
