The OSCE Programme Office will support a workshop that will focus on practical aspects of trade procedures and the function of customs authorities. The event will bring together some 50 participants from regional offices of the Customs Administration as well as experts from Georgia, the Russian Federation, the World Bank and Eurasian Economic Commission. The workshop’s discussion will primarily focus on simplifying customs clearance procedures and on topics such as the World Customs Organization’s framework standards, development of joint mechanisms for eliminating administrative barriers and ensuring secure delivery chains for successful international trade. The invited experts will also discuss the benefits of the use of pre-arrival information, release of goods prior to submission of customs declaration as well as issues related to the remote release of goods. The event is part of the Office’s longstanding efforts to foster trade facilitation and promote good governance in Kazakhstan.
