Kazakhstan’s Aarhus Centres’ Annual meeting

Representatives of the Aarhus Centres and the Energy Ministry’s Information and Analysis Centre of Environmental Protection will take part in an annual meeting to review the implementation of the Aarhus Convention in Kazakhstan. The participants will discuss the role of the Aarhus Centres in providing access to environmental information and justice and review options on how to increase society’s participation in public hearings.
This event also includes a training session for the Aarhus Centre members on the legal framework for sustainable functioning of the Centres, interaction with stakeholders: government agencies, civil society organizations and businesses as well as fundraising opportunities.
The event is part of the Office’s longstanding efforts to advance international standards of the Aarhus Convention in Kazakhstan.
