This national seminar will provide an overview of international practices in identifying and precluding international channels of/for the trafficking of drugs and their precursors, the types of precursors used in drug production, successful examples of using controlled deliveries, psychological techniques to identify drug traffickers and the work of Interpol in this area.
Participants will be encouraged to act as multipliers and share the knowledge acquired with their law enforcement colleagues at their respective duty stations.
The seminar will also serve to enhance the capacity of Kazakhstan’s law enforcement bodies by improving their ability to counter transnational organized crime tactics and strategies, facilitate effective detection of drug traffickers, and familiarize Kazakhstan’s Customs officials with international practices in countering transnational organized crime as it is related to the trade of international drugs and their precursors.
The seminar is part of the OSCE Centre’s effort to combat transnational organized crime, most notably illicit drug trafficking and diversion of chemical precursors.
