We need this organization in other parts of the world too.
The Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe plays a central role in conflict prevention and conflict mitigation. Its predecessor, the CSCE, was pivotal in the implementation of human rights and democracy, the peaceful settlement of conflicts and the strengthening of security, as well as the economic development through co-operation.
The decisive basis is confidence-building. We need this organization in other parts of the world too. It is therefore absolutely necessary to secure the future of the OSCE and to improve its effectiveness.
