TIRANA, 26 January 2010 - The Albanian Media Club, the first self-regulatory body for media in Albania will hold its inaugural meeting and sign a foundation act in an event organized by the OSCE Presence in Albania tomorrow. 

The Club will seek to define and promote interests of journalists, media owners and managers through wide-ranging stakeholder consultations. An additional objective of the media body is to strengthen the Albanian media's capacity to develop into an independent professional environment meeting high professional standards.

The establishment of the Albanian Media Club was facilitated by a project carried out by the OSCE Presence and the Tirana Office of the German Friedrich Ebert Foundation, with financial support from the European Union Delegation to Albania. The Head of the OSCE Presence, Ambassador Robert Bosch, will speak at the event.

Journalists are invited to attend the event at 10.30 on Wednesday, 27 January,at the Sheraton Hotel, Illyria 2 Room.
