The OSCE plays a major role in the creation and development of a stable, peaceful, democratic and selfsustaining Bosnia and Herzegovina. The OSCE's mandate was established under the General Framework Agreement for Peace (GFAP), drawn up in Dayton. - OSCE Office in Zagreb
The OSCE Office in Zagreb works with the Government on issues related to war crimes trials and reports on the implementation of the country's housing care programmes. It is the successor to the OSCE Mission to Croatia, which closed at the end of 2007. - OSCE Mission to Montenegro
The OSCE Mission to Montenegro is the Organization's youngest field operation, established on 29 June 2006, soon after the Republic of Montenegro became independent and was admitted to the OSCE as its 56th participating State. - OSCE Mission to Serbia
The Mission advises on implementation of legislation and monitors the proper functioning and development of democratic institutions, processes and mechanisms. It assists in the restructuring and training of law enforcement agencies and the judiciary. - OSCE Mission in Kosovo
With a ceiling of 350 international and 1,150 local staff, the OSCE Mission in Kosovo is currently the largest OSCE field presence. The Mission forms a distinct component of the United Nations Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK). - OSCE Spillover Monitor Mission to Skopje
The OSCE Spillover Monitor Mission to Skopje is the Organization's longest-serving field mission, originally established in September 1992 to help prevent the tension and conflicts in the former socialist Republic of Yugoslavia from spreading.
